Description

Manufacturer's Description WaterRower was designed in the mid 80’s by Yale and US National Team Rower, John Duke, who formed WaterRower Inc in 1988 in Rhode Island, in the North Eastern United States. Today our American Headquarters continues to be based in Rhode Island, in the small coastal town of Warren. For over 20 years WaterRower has been combining stylish design, hand crafted workmanship, and ethically sourced material to create the world’s finest rowing simulator. WaterRower Design WaterRower offer a number of options when it comes to the design and finish of your machine; both wood and steel. Wood has been chosen due to its marvellous engineering properties, primary amongst these is its ability to absorb sound and vibration, enhancing the WaterRower's quietness and smoothness of use. Each machine has been hand- finished with three coats of Danish Oil giving a deep lustre and warmth to the wood. Milled by hand in the USA, the manufacturing is of the highest standard, using both sustainable, Appalachian hard wood and polished stainless steel The Natural Series Comprises of the entry level WaterRower Models including the "Natural" and "Club". The WaterRower Natural is hand crafted in solid Ash and stained Honey Oak for consistency of colour. Ash, like all woods used in WaterRower construction, is a premium hardwood with incredible longevity and dimensional stability. The WaterRower Club is hand crafted in solid Ash and stained for colour. The WaterRower Club has been designed for High Traffic Areas such as Commercial Gyms, Studios, Rehabilitation Clinics, etc. The Designer Series Comprises of the premium level WaterRower Models including the "Oxbridge", "Classic", and "S1". Designer Series models are crafted from premium materials such as hardwood including cherry and walnut, as well as brushed stainless steel. The WaterRower Oxbridge is hand crafted in solid Cherry wood. Like all woods, Cherry wood may vary in colour from a red-brown to deep red. The wood will darken in colour with exposure to light. For this reason all WaterRower Cherry wood components are kept in light free rooms to protect from shadowing. A new WaterRower Oxbridge will therefore appear quite light in colour. The wood will however darken over time reaching a rich reddish hue. The WaterRower Classic is hand crafted in solid American Black Walnut. Like all woods, Black Walnut may vary in colour from a rich brown to purple-black. Black Walnut, like all woods used in WaterRower construction, is a premium hardwood with incredible longevity and dimensional stability. The WaterRower S1 is a limited production model crafted in polished stainless steel. The M Series Comprises of the commercial-grade, steel-constructed, WaterRower models including the “M”. M Series models are crafted from tubular steel which can be powder coated over sixteen-thousand colours. The WaterRower M1 HiRise is a full commercial model with a slightly higher entry point (500mm/20") than the M1 HiRise (300mm/12"). The frame is constructed from fabricated tubular steel. LoRise is a full commercial model with a lower level entry point (300mm/12") than the M1 HiRise (500mm/20"). The frame is constructed from fabricated tubular steel. The A1 Series The “A1” WaterRower Model features a unique monorail design and were engineered for use in group-ex rowing classes such as Indo-Row. They are made using ash wood, unstained, finished in Danish oil. The A1 includes an aluminium monorail with a medium duty seat and a home use ONLY warranty. Self- Regulating Resistance Resistance varies according to the Rule of Cubes (doubling the speed will require an eight- fold increase in power); resistance is therefore infinite and infinitely variable. The self- regulating aspect means the risk of injury is much lower than an air machine where the user can set a large amount of resistance without the necessary physical fitness to cope. This is the self- paced nature of the WaterRower and Rowing and allows anyon
