The album features a nonet + singer, including such luminaries as Coleman Hawkins and Booker Little, plus the wonderful vocals of Abbey Lincoln. As a bonus, we have added the complete session originally issued under the name of the Jazz Artists Guild, and which originally appeared divided onto two different albums: The Jazz Life (Candid CJM8019) and Newport Rebels (Candid CJM8022). Featuring a myriad of stars, this session also includes Max Roach on two tracks and Abbey Lincoln on the last one.
