Description

The combined Starrett squares consist of a hardened and machine-divided steel ruler (or blade) on which an adjustable square head is mounted. A reversible locking bolt allows the blade to be flipped or end-for-end without removing the locking bolt or nut. This ensures true alignment of the blade and heads. The square heads are made of cast iron and should not be confused with the cheap plastic or die-cast heads on the market. The value of Starrett tools is that they are accurate and last over time. As the name indicates, this tool can be used for many different purposes: a complete replacement for a whole set of common solid test squares, a 45 degree meter, a depth meter, a height meter, a marking meter or tracing, a level, plumb and, by withdrawing the blade, can also be used as a precision rule. This avoids dirtying the workbench with too many tools, each necessary but can be used less. This translates into the goal of all good craftsmen: better precision and greater efficiency.
