Mondo™ technology is THE ideal solution for mechanically tunable drums. The most impressive feature of this series is that the fur has its own Acousticon® kettle. This means that it is evenly and stably aligned before mounting on the drum. The kettle in turn has an external ½ inch thick support ring, on which the hoop of the drum is attached. Conclusion: simply press the fur onto the appropriate drum, place the hoop on and tighten the tuning screws evenly. No complex rope handling like traditional djembes. No difficulty with fur rest and tuning, like many other mechanically tunable drums. This series is explicitly designed for use with REMO® Mondo™ Djembes and REMO® Valencia Tubanos®. The various models include a sound spectrum from vivid and overtone-rich with strong projection (Fyberskin®) to rather warm tone with also strong projection (Skyndeep®) to warm mids with reduced overtones (Nuskyn®).
