The refractor gathers the light via a glass lens at the front of the telescope; the light is bent (refracted) as it passes through the lens allowing you to see your image. Refractor telescopes have many advantages, it is resistant to misalignment; the inside of the tube is sealed from the atmosphere and therefore rarely needs cleaning and the optics are multi-coated for high contrast. A wide angle zoom eyepiece comes as standard, however optional 1.25” eyepieces attach easily. The refractor is waterproof for protection against the elements and covered in rubber for added durability. The refractor hosts dual-focus knobs for super sharp focus and a twist-up eyecup for use with or without eyeglasses. In addition there is a T-adaptor included for easy 35mm/digital SLR imaging and a soft carry case is included for ease of transportation.
