Additional lenses change the working distance, with magnifications <1.0x increasing the working distance. This can be particularly advantageous when working under the microscope or handling with tools. Magnification factors >1.0 reduce working distance. The attachment lens is attached by means of M48 thread in front of the actual lens pair. Depending on the magnification factor, the magnification range of the microscope can be varied. Further adjustments are then possible with an additional pair of eyepieces, so that the optimal setting is possible for every application.
