And with this ultra-fast supreme lens you can expect just that, delivering outstanding image quality with edge-to-edge sharpness and high contrast at any aperture or focus distance. Perfect for portraits, landscapes, low-light scenes and more, the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G lens offers passionate photographers an easy and affordable way to discover the difference wide aperture can make. Life Through a Lens Nikon recognises that every photographer is unique, seeing the world in very different ways. So whatever your ideas, experience or creative vision, NIKKOR offers an array of lenses to draw out your potential. This fast, well-balanced 50mm wide-aperture standard lens [1] with a maximum aperture of f/1.4 captures images with exquisite sharpness even in low light situations. Realising a high Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) this fixed-focal length lens provides photographers with an effortless way to shoot natural-looking picture blur with a shallow depth of field. And with these conditions a bright viewfinder image is created making it easier to achieve the very best composition. A lens hood and soft carrying pouch are supplied. Strikingly Crisp Providing outstanding optical performance the lens comprises an 8 element, 7 group configuration and a nine rounded-blade iris diaphragm which renders images with a more natural appearance in out-of-focus areas. Efficiently correcting sagittal coma flare and other types of lens aberrations, the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G offers great precision towards the edges of the frame particularly when using large apertures. Silent Precision Nikon's AF-S technology is yet another reason why professional photographers like NIKKOR lenses. Nikon’s exclusive Silent Wave Motor (SWM) converts travelling waves into rotational energy to focus the optics. This enables high-speed autofocusing that’s extremely accurate and super quiet. So for discrete shooting you can set up the shot in an instant and camera focusing won’t disturb sensitive subjects like wildlife. Switching Focus Combining ease-of-use and maximum precision the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Lens has two focus modes. In addition to Manual focus, Manual-priority autofocus (M/A) allows you to switch from autofocus to manual operation with virtually no time lag, even during AF servo operation and regardless of the AF mode in use. This gives all the benefits of fast, automatic focusing while still retaining the ability to make fine focus adjustments before taking the shot. The AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G lens is perfect for portraits, landscapes, travel and more. Intelligent System Nikon's Internal focus (IF) technology limits all the optical movement to the interior of the non-extending lens barrel. This intelligent system allows for a more compact and lightweight design as well as a closer focusing distance to approximately 45cm (1.5ft). With the non-rotating front element the use of circular polarizing filters and lens-mounted flash accessories is possible making this lens a versatile option. NIKKOR Quality Cleverly crafted in a way that only an optical manufacturer can understand, Nikon creates technologies that make NIKKOR lenses the best choice for any type of still or moving imagery. Omitting the need for an aperture ring, G-type lens aperture is controlled electronically through the camera. Electronic adjustment is not only very efficient but also allows Nikon to place a weather sealing on the lens mount, so you can shoot with complete confidence. The AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G lens from Nikon is ready to capture creative photography in the widest variety of conditions. [1] Focal length of 50mm when used on a camera with an FX sensor. When fitted to a DX-format DSLR this lens has an angle of view equivalent to that of a 75mm lens in 35mm [135] format.
