Back in the 1980s, when Alnico was at the peak of its price development, customers began asking for a speaker with the classic Celestion-typical sound combined with the ability to handle the higher output powers of the then new generation of more powerful amplifiers. Celestion began designing a modern vintage speaker in 1986, based on the Blue but less expensive, and using contemporary materials and construction techniques. The result was the Vintage 30 - an instant classic. Twenty years and more than a million speakers sold later, we are convinced that the Vintage 30 can be found in more speaker boxes and case amplifiers than any other speaker on the planet.
