Description

Among double bass players, Thomastik-Infeld Spirocore strings have enjoyed a legendary reputation for decades. That sound is also available for electric bass. The range includes both flatwound and roundwound strings. For the premium flatwound version, Thomastik-Infeld uses an extremely supple steel core wrapped with a silk insert. The outer winding is a true ribbon flatwound made from a special nickel alloy. The uniquely sounding roundwound strings are constructed similarly to their flatwound counterpart, but have a brilliant, double-bass-like sound without the typical side effects, such as excessive string squeak or premature fret wear. This string set has been designed for a lighter gauge to facilitate playability without loss of performance and to reduce pressure on the instrument neck. Bass material: steel core, wrapped with nickel wire, flatwound or roundwound.
