Description

The Starrett dividers are exceptionally rigid but lightweight and easy to handle. The head is made of forged steel. The hardened tips are well shaped and slightly curved, so can be rotated and brought closer together if necessary. The sturdy construction of the joint, combined with the quadrant projected through the legs and smoothly locked by a knurled clamping nut, eliminates lateral deflection of the legs. A quarter adjustment nut allows fine adjustment for tight measurements. A test nut between the legs locks the legs after correct adjustment. This feature prevents the legs from moving with the grain on wood when writing or sliding from rough spots when labeling on metal.
