Bear Family is happy to have gotten the audiobook rights of the most important Elvis biography and successful translation of 'Careless Love' by cult author Peter Guralnick for the German edition, the "perhaps best biography ever written about an American musician" (Memphis Commercial Appeal). The book edition was published in 2006 by the Berlin publisher Bosworth Music. Peter Guralnick is one of the most important authors writing about music and musicians, his books include 'The Triumph Of Sam Cooke' and 'Sweet Soul Music: Rhythm & Blues And The Southern Dream Of Freedom'. In 'Careless Love', the second part of the two-volume Elvis biography, Peter Guralnik describes the period from 1958 to 1977: the army period in Germany, the return to Memphis, the world hits, the recording sessions and marketing strategies, the films in Hollywood, the 1968 comeback, the wedding with Priscil The Aloha from Hawaii' concert, the drug, drug and food excesses, as well as the difficult period in the first half of the 1970s until his tragic death in 1977. The Presley production comprises two audiobooks: the second part, 'Careless Love' appears in July 2007 for Elvis' 30. Day of death on August 16. Bela B.
