Three animated adventures. In 'The Secret of Nimh' (1982), Mrs Brisby is a plucky mouse who is determined to save her family home from Farmer Fitzgibbon's plough. Her efforts appear to be in vain, until she teams up with a kingdom of resourceful rats, led by the charming Nicodemus. In 'The Secret of Nimh 2' (1998), years after Jonathan Brisby saved the mice of Thorn Valley from Nimh, his son Timmy is himself undergoing hero training. Before he is even ready to complete his course, however, Timmy is called upon by young mouse Jenny to rescue her parents from Nimh. Undaunted, Timmy rises to the challenge in an attempt to prove himself a hero like his father before him. 'Tom Sawyer' (1999), is an Animated animal version of Mark Twain's classic tale. Young friends Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn spend their time fishing and fantasising about being pirates, but find themselves on the adventure of a lifetime when they set out on a real life quest to search for buried treasure. Their journey takes them from the waterways of Mississippi to a secret cavern hideout, and includes plenty of thrills and spills along the way.
