Description

Product Description Fig. 8 mm F3.5 EX DG circular fisheye. Example image of the 8 mm F3.5 EX DG Fisheye. Sigma 8 mm F3.5 EX DG Circular Fisheye It's all about: With a full 180° angle of view in all directions, this lens delivers a round image of everything that comes in front of the lens. Lines that do not run through the centre of the image are thus reproduced strongly curved. Due to this fixed angle/area relationship, it is ideal for technical applications and measuring purposes. However, it plays its strength in panoramic photography. With just 3 shots, it opens up a 360° spherical panorama. Thanks to the high light intensity, even shooting in poorer lighting conditions is no problem. The use of SLD (special low dispersion) glass ensures excellent image quality and the SML (Super Multi Layer) coating prevents reflections and ghosting. The filter holder on the back allows you to hold gelatin filters. - Unique design. Exclusive quality, non-slip design, elegant finish - these are the features of our professional rail. The EX symbol characterizes our sophisticated lens series. In addition to the high quality standard, these products are characterised by exclusive focal length ranges and high light intensities. The excellent performance features of Sigma EX lenses, uncompromising design, perfect handling and excellent durability meet the demands of photographers at the highest level. EX lenses - the better choice. MTF chart – please click on the picture to enlarge – suitable for full format sensor. Like our DC lenses, the coating technology and the construction of the DG lenses, whose calculations are based on digital demands, primarily prevent light reflections from the sensor on the backward objective lens. By using these modern coating methods, ghosting is successfully eliminated by reflections on the sensor surface and at the same time a balanced colour balance is achieved. The DG lenses are designed for demanding use on digital SLR cameras up to full format. These lenses illuminate the full 35mm KB format and are therefore equally suitable for use on 35 mm film SLR cameras as well as on digital SLR cameras. The DG lenses offer an optimal design for digital cameras as well as for meeting the highest lens demands in general. MTF modulation transfer function. The MTF (modulation transfer function) is one of the measuring methods with which the performance of a lens and its contrast behavior can be determined at different spatial frequencies. The horizontal axis expresses in millimetres the distance of the centre of the image to the edge of the picture, the vertical axis expresses the contrast value (highest value is 1). The information for 10 lines/mm reflects the contrast behavior of the lens (red lines), the values for 30 lines/mm express the resolution (green lines), each with the aperture open. Lines that run parallel to the image circle diameter are called sagittal lines (solid line), transverse lines are called tangential lines (dashed line). Review 'The optical performance is extraordinary considering the lens delivers circular images. -- Professional Photographer - January 2007 Manufacturer's Description This circular fisheye lens creates a circular image with a 180-degree angle of view when used on a full frame digital or 35 mm film camera. It has an F3.5 open aperture value, a minimum focusing distance of 13.5 cm (5.3 inches) and a maximum magnification of 1:4.6. It permits creative expression by allowing the production of special distorted images. Occurrence of flare and ghosting is minimized with a Super Multi-Layer Coating. SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass is used for superior correction of chromatic aberration and excellent image quality. * Full circle can only be captured with full frame 35 mm format digital SLR and film SLR cameras Box Contains Padded lens case Front and rear lens caps 1 year international warranty Extended two year UK warranty Instruction leaflet
