Paubha: where the divinities reside

"Paubha painting was originated and developed by the New artists of the Kathmandu Valley. So, it's essential to know in brief about the New community and the valley itself. The short introduction to the Paubha painting might provide an overview for all the readers to know what Paubha is. Though Paubha painting is based on Buddhist and Hindu philosophies, this book is focused more on Buddhist philosophy. I wish to expand the periphery of my study to an extensive research in the future. A lot of legends regarding the origin of Buddhist art do exist but only few of them are presented here. New art contains various genres. Each genre has its glorious history and has uncountable matters of discussion and research. This book also includes aspects of Paubha to show how Newa art has flourished in various countries. I hope this will be a motivation for anyone interested to research more on our historical art, artists and their contributions in executing priceless masterpieces; and eventually, to create their history. Paubha painting is the pre-cursor of Tibetan Thanka painting. Thanka painting originated with the direct influence of the Newa style in the heartland of Tibet. Both the two genres of art have a significant role in the religious and artistic world. We should be aware of the differences between these two forms of art even though they share similarities."
