About the Author Liu Quanwei, born 1977, PhD, Professorate Senior Engineer, studied tunnel and underground engineering at Beijing Jiaotong University. He was engaged in technical management of construction at China Railway 14 Bureau Group Co., Ltd, participating successively in the construction of such major projects as Qinghai-Tibet Railway and Nanjing Changjiang Tunnel. In 2010, he was the principal of Rail Engineering Administration Sector in the Qingdao Urban-Rural Construction Municipal Engineering Administration Division and since 2014, has been the Deputy General Manager of Qingdao West Coast Rail Transit Co., Ltd. He has been dedicated to advance the theoretical study and technical innovation of metro construction in hard rock stratum and established a standardization system for safe and civilized construction of metro.
