The topics include Cyber Medical Systems Medical Instrumentation Nanomedicine and Drug Delivery Systems Public Health Entrepreneurship This proceedings volume offers the scientific results of the 6th International Conference on the Development of Biomedical Engineering in Vietnam, held in June 2016 at Ho Chi Minh City. About the Author Vo Van Toi: Professor Vo Van Toi obtained his Ph.D in Micro-Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland in 1983. From 1983-1984, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Health Science and Technology Division, a joint program of Harvard-MIT (USA). From 1984 to 2009, he was a faculty of the School of Engineering at Tufts University (USA). During his tenure at Tufts, from 1991 to 1992 he was a Visiting Professor at the Scheie Eye Research Institute of University of Pennsylvania (USA), from 1992 to 1994 he helped create and was the Vice-Director of the Eye Research Institute in Sion (Switzerland), in 2003 he helped establish the Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department at Tufts and from 2004 to 2009 he was a member of the Board of Directors then Executive Director of the Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF), a U.S. federal agency. In 2009, he went back to Vietnam to establish the BME Department at International University of Vietnam National Universities in Ho Chi Minh City and has been its Chair since. His research interests include Design and Applications of Medical Devices, Human Visual System, Ophthalmology, and Telemedicine. He is the (co)author of many scientific articles, books and patents of invention. Nguyen Le Thanh An: Dr. Thanh An Nguyen Le obtained her medical degree from Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University, Vietnam in 2007 and her Ph.D. in public health from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2015. She is currently a lecturer in Biomedical Engineering Department at International University - Vietnam National University HCMC, leading clinical studies for evaluation of products developed in her department. Her research interests include health policy and health economic evaluation. Nguyen Duc Thang: Dr. Nguyen Duc Thang obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Kyung Hee University, South Korean in 2011. He is currently a lecturer in Biomedical Engineering Department at International University-Vietnam National University HCMC. He is a leader of the Brain Computer Interface Laboratory in the department with the research interests in the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in biomedical fields. He is the (co)author of many scientific conferences, books and journals.
