De vondst van een oude doos aquarelverf op zolder volstond om Julie Loeckx weer aan het schilderen te krijgen. Als kind had ze naschools kunstonderwijs gevolgd, maar later koos ze toch voor een opleiding in stedenbouw en landschapsarchitectuur. Finaal zou ze ook carrière in de projectontwikkeling maken. Toen er tijd vrijkwam om het schilderen opnieuw op te pakken, viel alles op zijn plek. Ze besloot haar werk op Instagram te posten en de reacties bleven niet uit. De opdrachten kwamen zo vlot binnen dat ze zich voltijds aan haar kunst kon wijden. Figuratie zou stilaan plaatsmaken voor meer abstracte schilderijen met een figuratieve toets: expressief, dynamisch en kleurrijk werk dat intussen menig interieur opvrolijkt. Maar daar zou het niet bij blijven: Julie’s vormentaal bleek zich ook uitstekend te lenen voor product design en werd al snel vertaald in vazen, tapijten, plaids en tafels. Een heerlijk boek, als een weldadig bad in een blije en veelkleurige wereld.
