About the Author Dr. Avital Binah-Pollak is currently a research fellow at the institute for European Ethnology at Ludwig Maximilian University. She is a socio-cultural anthropologist with an emphasis on gender, migration, boundaries, and education in contemporary China and Hong Kong. Her most recent article was published in the edited volume Im/mobilities and Boundaries: An Ethnographical Approach.
