About the Author Markus J. Buehler is Esther and Harold E. Edgerton Associate Professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has many awards and honors to his name as well as numerous scientific papers and book chapters. He is the author of 'Atomistic Modeling of Materials Failure' published by Springer in 2008. His research interests are in materials science and mechanics of protein materials; interaction of chemistry and mechanics; development of multi-scale simulation tools.
