The Master 10GT/12m™ sail course book has been specially written by the International Yacht Marine Certification Society B.V. (iymcs) as an entry level textbook on seamanship under sail used to teach iymcs model courses or for self-study by readers wishing to gain, or improve their sailing knowledge, skills and build up confidence to be able to take out a sailing yacht of up to 44 feet LOA in coastal waters and internal waters (inland seas, lakes, rivers, waterways) up to a strong wind force of Force 5 (17-21 knots or 8,5-10,5 m/s) on the Beaufort Scale. The book assumes no pre-existing knowledge or sailing experience, it is well structured and has a modern format. It takes you step-by-step through each topic and subject. The book encompasses Electronics, which play a significant part in modern sailing, while staying true to the fundamental principles of seamanship and navigation, to enable you to navigate safely wherever you are. The textbook consists of 2 parts. Part I contains the theoretical general knowledge sub-sections that support Part II, which shows the practical elements and tasks in the form of Instruction Cards.
