Marc Kruithof is a law professor at Ghent University. He holds a PhD in Law, as well as Licentiates in Law and in Economics, from Ghent University, and a Master of Laws from Yale Law School. Walter De Bondt is an emeritus professor at Ghent University and at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). He holds a PhD in Law as well as a Licentiate in Law from Ghent University, and a Master of Laws from UC Berkeley. About the Author Marc Kruithof is Professor at Ghent University, where he teaches civil liability (torts) and comparative law. He holds a Ph.D. in Law (Ghent University, 2009), LL.M. (Yale Law School, 1986), Licentiate in Economics (Ghent University, 1985), and Licentiate in Law (Ghent University, 1983). His current research focuses on torts and on general concepts of the law of obligations. Previously, his work focused on financial services law and client protection in investment services. Walter De Bondt is Emeritus Professor at Ghent University and at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). He holds a Ph.D. in Law (Ghent University, 1982), LL.M. (UC Berkeley, 1978), and Licentiate in Law (Ghent University, 1973). He taught courses on contracts and on comparative law. His research mainly focused on the formation of contracts, the precontractual process, the consent of the parties and the free will of a patient asking for euthanasia.
