La dietética tiene un lugar privilegiado en prevención primaria, participa del tratamiento de numerosas enfermedades, y en algunas ocasiones es el tratamiento único, como en algunas enfermedades metabólicas congénitas o en la enfermedad celíaca. Sin embargo, el recurso a la dieta a menudo se ve limitada por su lentitud y por la dificultad de su establecimiento, ya que requiere conocimientos específicos. Este manual pretende poner al alcance de los profesionales de la medicina, tengan conocimientos de dietética o no, los argumentos y las claves para el desarrollo de una intervención dietética eficaz y adecuadas. Las fichas dietéticas para los médicos facilitan la aplicabilidad de la dieta establecida en cada situación, ya sea una dieta equilibrada, pra combatir enfermedades metabólocas, gastrointestinales, cardiovasculares, renales, oncológicas, intolerancias alimentarias o alergias. A partir de los fundamentos de la nutrición, del conocimiento de los alimentos y de los consejos nutricionales, esta obra aborda las múltiples patologías (tanto innatas como adquiridas) que son susceptibles de ser tratadas con una prescripción dietética adecuada. El libro se ha concebido con la voluntad de despejar las dudas, las inexactitudes, las falsas veerdades y los arcaismos en beneficio de actitudes validadas por los consensos y las recomendadiones, a fin de proporcionar a la dietética el lugar que le corresponde entre el arsenal terapéutico. Manual que tiene como objetivo dotar a los médicos y a los dietistas de los argumentos y las claves que permiten elaborar una intervención dietética adecuada y eficaz. Este trabajo se ha concebido para refutar creencias infundadas y falsas verdades en favor de actitudes convalidadas por el consenso y recomendaciones dirigidas a otorgar a la dietética el lugar que le corresponde en el arsenal terapéutico. Las fichas dietéticas para los prescriptores facilitan la aplicación del régimen descrito en cada situación, ya se trate de equilibrio alimentairo, enfermedades metabólicas, digestivas, cardiovasculares o renales, cáncer o intolerancias alimentarias y alergias.
