Se trata de la nueva edición del Tratado de Anatomía humana, descriptiva, topográfica y funcional de Henry Rouvière y André Delmas revisada por Vincent Delmas. Es una obra clásica que en sucesivas ediciones ha ido mejorando para mantener su vigente actualidad proporcionando una exposición didáctica, completa y actualizada de las estructuras corporales. Este primer tomo está dedicado al estudio de la cabeza y cuello. Con el objetivo de facilitar un enfoque didáctico y entendedor, la obra incluye una parte de anatomía funcional que aclara de forma más activa la parte descriptiva. Asimismo, aporta iconografía muy precisa y clara que incluye imágenes fotográficas, radiográficas, tomodensitométricas y las obtenidas por resonancia magnética nuclear. Incorporándose en el Tomo 3 y 4 un pequeño atlas de imágenes por RM. Al inicio de cada tomo hay un Índice de la nómina anatómica que facilita una referencia anatómica internacional. Además, junto a la nueva terminología, cada vez que aparece un término anatómico nuevo se incluye, entre paréntesis, los términos referentes a epónimos o a aquellas denominaciones consideradas tradicionales. De esta manera se permite que los estudiantes comprendan más fácilmente la terminología que emplean los clínicos, y que no siempre coincide con la de los anatomistas. En cuanto a la estructura del Tratado en esta edición el Sistema Nervioso Central se trata en un cuarto tomo introduciendo una parte nueva sobre Anatomía Funcional del SNC que aporta unidad y equilibrio a la obra. Nueva edición de este texto clásico de referencia en Anatomía revisado por Vincent Delmas, miembro del Instituto de Anatomía de París y Profesor de Anatomía de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad René Descartes de París. La obra en esta edición está estructurada en 4 tomos: Tomo 1: “Cabeza y cuello, Tomo 2: “Tronco, Tomo 3: “Miembros y Tomo 4: “Sistema Nervioso Central. Cada tomo ofrece una descripción de las estructuras corporales desde tres aproximaciones: descriptiva, topográfica y funcional, lo cual permite un enfoque didáctico más claro y entendedor. El Tomo 4, “Sistema Nervioso Central incluye, junto a la parte de Anatomía Descriptiva, una parte totalmente nueva de Anatomía Funcional del Sistema Nervioso Central. Se ha enriquecido la iconografía de la obra y se ha incluido al final de los tomos 3 y 4 un pequeño atlas de imágenes obtenidas por RM. Al inicio de cada tomo hay un Índice de la Nómina Anatómica totalmente actualizado, que facilita una referencia terminológica internacional.
