Her photographs in the book also create very valuable source for future. 衣装が語る花嫁 バイリンガル本・ 日本語とトルコ語カラー版 トルコ・エーゲ海地方の村にて ギョルデスの花嫁たち―衣装が紡ぎだす物語 トルコで日本を日本でトルコを語るKotodama İstanbulの一作 本書の筆者であるエミネ・アタマン・コチはこの取り組みを始めたきっかけをこう語っている “1974年私はイスタンブールに移住した それから約30年が経ち自分の生活を整理し周囲を見渡す機会を得てみると私たちは文化的価値を失い始めていることに気づいたたとえば私が物心ついたときからずっと目にしていたアルデミaldemi (赤いベール)ウチエテッキüçetek（下部が3つに分かれた長衣） イルバダilbada（ボレロ状の上着）美しい花嫁の頭飾りや伝統的な花嫁衣装を知る人の数は減っていたそれらはいつでも簡単に見つけられると思っていたのにほとんどの女性はこれらの服をつづらに入れておく必要がないと考えプラスチックの洗面器やアルミ皿と交換して過去の遺産を手放してしまっていたのだ このショックが私を本書の取り組みに駆り立てたのだった何年も手を尽くした結果村の女性たちが伝統的な衣装を学べる縫製教室や若者が伝統的な衣装で伝統舞踊を楽しむ民族舞踊講座そして合唱団が民謡を披露するなどといったことが実現した古い衣装を写真に収め思い出の残る衣装や結婚の伝統を文章にし現在進行中の結婚式の慣習をインタビューや写真で記録した本書はこれらすべてが未来に伝わるようにした尊い取り組みの成果である私たちの国で失われつつあるすべての文化的価値がそれにふさわしい地位にあることを願っている
