Die Auswirkungen von Silizium (Si) auf den Mineralstoffstatus im Boden und in den Pflanzen sind nicht gut untersucht. Der Einsatz von Si könnte die Reiserträge erheblich steigern und abiotischen Stress, insbesondere durch Trockenheit, abmildern. Es ist bekannt, dass Si eine günstige Wirkung auf Pflanzen unter Stressbedingungen hat. Auf der Forschungsfarm von KrishiVigyan Kendra, Gumla, wurde ein Feldversuch durchgeführt, um die "Auswirkungen von Siliziumquellen und -mengen auf die Bodenfruchtbarkeit, das Produktionspotenzial und die Qualität von Reis (Oryza sativa L.) auf lateritischen Böden in Jharkhand" während der Kharif-Saison 2017-18 und 2018-19 zu bewerten. Die Behandlungen umfassten 3 Si-Dosen (50 kg, 100 kg, 150 kg Si ha-1) als Kalziumsilikat (T2 bis T4), Flugasche (T5 bis T7) und Paddy-Stroh (T8 bis T10). Der Versuch wurde in einer vollständigen randomisierten Anordnung mit drei Wiederholungen angelegt. Es wurde festgestellt, dass der Gehalt an verfügbaren Nährstoffen im Boden mit der abgestuften Menge an ausgebrachtem Si anstieg. Die verschiedenen in dieser Studie verwendeten Si-Quellen unterschieden sich stark in ihren physikalisch-chemischen Eigenschaften und ihrem Verhalten im Boden. Unter den chemischen (pH, EC und organischer C) und Fruchtbarkeitsparametern (verfügbarer N, P, K, S, Mn, Zn, Fe, Cu und Si).
