Der Wachstumsmechanismus bestimmt nicht nur das Volumen der Produktion, sondern auch die Preisbildung, die Einkommensverteilung und die Akkumulation. Ausgehend von einem Kaldorianischen Ansatz des technischen Fortschritts zeigt und analysiert der ungarische Wirtschaftswissenschaftler György Simon, Jr. die wichtigsten Wachstumsregularitäten in der Nachkriegswirtschaft der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Die Untersuchung stützt sich auf einen theoretischen Rahmen, der grundlegende Aspekte des Wirtschaftsmechanismus umfasst, wie Produktion und Wachstum, Gleichgewichtspreise sowie Kapital-, Gewinn- und Lohnbildung. Die relevanten politischen Fragen umfassen die Probleme der Mobilisierung interner Ressourcen und der internationalen wirtschaftlichen Verflechtungen. In einem Modell erklärt der Autor das Wachstum des verarbeitenden Gewerbes unter Berücksichtigung der Wechselkurse und der Terms of Trade. Eine weitere Funktion spezifiziert die Rolle des verarbeitenden Gewerbes für das gesamtwirtschaftliche Wachstum. Für die angebotsseitige Analyse wurde ein endogenes Wachstumsmodell (allgemeines Modell oder Weltmodell) mit einem eingebauten Mechanismus des technischen Fortschritts verwendet, der sowohl Sach- und Humankapital als auch die Zeit in der Rolle der kreativen Wirtschaftstätigkeit berücksichtigt.
