Esta tesis aplicada fue diseñada para explorar y proporcionar una mejor comprensión de los estudiantes de origen internacional matriculados en un Inglés para fines académicos (EAP) en una universidad pública estadounidense de 4 años en el sureste de Florida. Este estudio utilizó un diseño fenomenológico cualitativo para la recopilación y el análisis de datos. El protocolo de la entrevista fue revisado y verificado por un panel de expertos. La recolección de datos se llevó a cabo en el otoño de 2014; el investigador utilizó un protocolo de entrevista abierta con un muestreo intencional de nueve estudiantes internacionales. Las entrevistas se grabaron, transcribieron y codificaron. Los participantes revisaron las transcripciones para comprobar la exactitud de los datos grabados. El análisis de los datos reveló temas comunes de la experiencia educativa de los estudiantes internacionales en las instituciones de enseñanza superior estadounidenses. Las entrevistas a los participantes permitieron al investigador comprender mejor las experiencias vividas por los estudiantes internacionales.
