(Fig.1) La bellezza umana, essendo un fattore soggettivo, cambia i moduli di trattamento di problemi simili da un paziente all'altro, impedendo così una standardizzazione dei piani di trattamento. DENTISTICA ESTESA "È l'arte e la scienza dell'odontoiatria applicata per creare o migliorare la bellezza di un individuo entro limiti funzionali e fisiologici". Il viso deve essere considerato nella sua interezza quando si cerca di lavorare sull'estetica dentale, perché l'immagine finale dovrebbe essere una fusione in cui le varie caratteristiche del viso, del sorriso, dei denti e delle gengive si completano a vicenda in modo naturale e completo. L'estetica è definita come "una branca della filosofia che si occupa della natura e dei giudizi sulla bellezza". Estetica" è un derivato della parola greca "aisthetikos", che significa "percettivo "1. Si riferisce al senso del bello o alla scienza che deduce dalla natura e dal gusto le regole e i principi dell'arte.
