L’objectif principal de cet ouvrage est d’analyser les déterminants de l’introduction des banques de l’UEMOA à la Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM) et l’effet de la cotation sur leurs performances. Les résultats indiquent qu’au titre des facteurs endogènes, le niveau d’endettement, le risque, la taille, le pays d’appartenance de la banque et l’année d’introduction ont un effet significatif sur la probabilité d’introduction des banques à la BRVM. En ce qui concerne les facteurs exogènes, l’inflation, les taux d’intérêts des dépôts et des crédits, et le rendement de l’indice boursier sont des déterminants dans la décision d’introduction en bourse. Les résultats de l’effet de la cotation sur la performance financière mettent en lumière une sous-évaluation de faible ampleur (Faible rendements à court terme), une amélioration de la performance à long terme (méthode des CAAR et méthode BHAR). Ces résultats impliquent que les banques de l’UEMOA devraient recourir au marché boursier dans la mesure ou la cotation améliore la performance. En outre, les autorités du marché devraient travailler à garantir la crédibilité de la BRVM dans le but d’attirer le maximum d’investisseurs.
