La recherche a pour objectifs de décrire les caractéristiques de la personnalité de l’enfant confié qui contribuent à sa résilience scolaire, de recenser les souvenirs de l’enfant confié en lien avec sa famille biologique qui favorisent sa résilience scolaire et de décrire les facteurs de protection dans l’environnement de l’enfant confié qui expliquent sa résilience scolaire. Elle s’appuie sur la théorie de l’attachement de Bowlby, l’analyse des processus de protection individuels et socio environnementaux (Werner, Garmezy et Rutter) et le modèle écologique de Bronfenbrenner.Dans le but d’atteindre les objectifs, une recherche qualitative de type exploratoire a été menée. Elle s’est basée sur un échantillon de 32 élèves sélectionnés dans un ensemble de 640 élèves confiés de quatre grands établissements dans deux grandes villes de deux provinces du Burkina Faso. L’échantillon de base a permis à partir d’un questionnaire de faire la typologie des raisons du confiage des enfants. Le guide d’entretien a permis d’explorer les facteurs individuels et contextuels de la résilience scolaire de ces enfants.
