ADHD: ICD 11 - International Classification of Diseases for Mortality and Morbidity Statistics

ADHD is Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, DSM 5, 314.01, ICD 11, 6A05.2 - combined presentation; 314.00, 6A05.0 - predominantly inattentive presentation; 314.01, 6A05.1 - predominantly hyperactive/impulsive presentation; 6A05.Y, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, other specified presentation; 6A05.Z, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, unspecified presentation, with reference to whether or not these criteria have been met in the past six (6) months. Being characterized by a dysfunction in the prefrontal cortex, ADHD has as constitution of its symptoms impulsivity, inattention disorders, impaired control of emotions, difficulty planning, elaboration of strategies and hyperactivity, with hyperkinesis. According to ARRUDA (2019), 912 thousand Brazilian children aged 5 to 12 years, have ADHD, an estimated percentage of 3.3% of the child population, as presented by IBGE. Children with ADHD are 7 times more likely to have accidents at home and 9 times more likely to be hospitalized for bruises and fractures, and in adulthood they are also at risk of difficulty maintaining relationships.
