Die Auswahl von Insektiziden der nächsten Generation für die wirksame Bekämpfung des Reisstängelbohrers ist das Hauptthema dieses Buches. Das neue Insektizid Chlorantraniliprol 0,4 % G erwies sich als hochwirksam bei der Reduzierung des Befalls durch den Reisstängelbohrer. Die Wirksamkeit der vier anderen Insektizide war in der Reihenfolge Methoxyfenozid 24%SC > Dinotefuran 20%SG > Carbufuran 5G> Quinalphos 25EC. Das Insektizid Chlorantraniliprol 0,4%G wies die geringste Toxizität auf, während Quinalphos 25EC für natürliche Feinde im Reisökosystem hoch toxisch war. In Anbetracht der Wirksamkeit gegen den Stängelbohrer und der schädlichen Wirkung auf natürliche Feinde wird vorgeschlagen, das Insektizid Chlorantraniliprol 0,4%G anderen Insektiziden bei der Bekämpfung des Schädlings vorzuziehen. Die Insektizide Methoxyfenozid 24%SC und Dinotefuran 20%SG könnten ebenfalls zur Bekämpfung des Reisstängelbohrers empfohlen werden, um eine bessere Wirksamkeit gegen den Schädling und eine bessere Kosteneffizienz zu erzielen.
