Different types of gas sensors, signal processing, pattern recognition, hardware software employed, their advantages and limitations have been thoroughly discussed.The book clearly provides idea about design, development and fabrication of e-nose and machine vision based fruit sorter system for fruit ripeness assessments. The developed systems performance testing through various experiments are explained. The statistical as well as neural and fuzzy algorithms are explained with experimental data analysis. The book gives clear idea about evaluating performance of developed systems. The results from the system was validated with human based fruit grading and physico-chemical analysis methods including firmness, TSS and pH are explained.
