A inclusão de nanopartículas na solda sem chumbo, a trajetória das nanopartículas ao longo do processo de soldagem precisa ser monitorada, pois influenciará a formação da altura do filete, da camada intermetálica (IMC) e da formação de micro-ovóides. O estudo atual introduz uma interação bidirecional utilizando tanto o método de volume de fluido (VOF) quanto o método de fase discreta (DPM) para contabilizar a interação entre as nanopartículas e a solda derretida. As partículas nano-reforçadas que são introduzidas na solda SAC305 são nanopartículas de óxido de titânio (TiO2), óxido de níquel (NiO) e óxido de ferro (III) (Fe2O3) com diâmetro aproximado de ≈20nm em diferentes percentagens de peso de 0,01, 0,05 e 0,15 wt.% para aplicação em condensadores ultra-finos do tipo 01005. Tanto estudos experimentais como de simulação foram realizados para comparar a validade da nova simulação baseada em DPM. Os resultados obtidos com o experimento podem efetivamente visualizar a distribuição das nanopartículas no final do processo de refluxo. A simulação DPM, por outro lado, é capaz de mostrar detalhadamente a trajetória das nanopartículas à medida que estas são submetidas ao reflow térmico SAC305.
