Description
Les insectes ravageurs du riz constituant une menace très sérieuse en riziculture (irrigué et pluvial) dans la région de l’Extrême-Nord Cameroun et occasionnant des pertes de rendements n’ont pas reçu l'attention méritée en tant que contrainte principale à la production rizicole en Afrique. La présente étude a été conduite en vue d’améliorer la production du riz par une bonne gestion des insectes ravageurs du riz en utilisant des méthodes appropriées de lutte contre ces insectes ravageurs à l’Extrême-Nord Cameroun dans l’écosystème rizicole irrigué de Maga et l’écosystème rizicole pluvial de Maroua. Nous avons comparé sur des parcelles expérimentales (en blocs aléatoires) de riz NERICA 3 et de riz IR 46, trois traitements qui sont : un témoin (pas d’application de pesticide), un insecticide chimique homologué « lynx » dont les matières actives sont la Lambda-cyhalotrine 15g/l et l'Acétamipride 20g/l et un biopesticide « l’extrait aqueux des graines de neem ». La Pulvérisation de l’extrait aqueux des graines de neem sur la variété de riz IR46 et la variété NERICA 3, a permis de mieux contrôler l’évolution de la population des insectes ravageurs comme Conocephalus maculatus.
