В этой книге исследуется информационная среда студентов, обучающихся в системе дистанционного образования на уровне высшего образования в Ботсване. Особое внимание было уделено четырем дистанционным учебным заведениям в составе Университета Ботсваны и трех трансграничных учебных заведений (Университет Дерби, УНИСА и МАНКОСА). Цель исследования: 1) определение информационных потребностей учащихся, обучающихся заочно в Ботсване; 2) определение того, каким образом удовлетворяются информационные потребности учащихся, обучающихся заочно в Ботсване; 3) изучение информационных ресурсов и услуг, доступных для учащихся, обучающихся заочно в Ботсване; 4) определение путей доступа учащихся, обучающихся заочно в Ботсване, к информационным ресурсам и услугам; 5) определение того, оснащены ли учащиеся, обучающиеся заочно, надлежащим образом для использования имеющихся у них информационных ресурсов и услуг; 6) выявление проблем, с которыми сталкиваются учащиеся, обучающиеся заочно в Ботсване, и 7) выработка рекомендаций в отношении стратегий улучшения информационной среды для учащихся, обучающихся заочно в Ботсване.
