Par conséquent, cette analyse documentaire permet de comprendre la structure, la composition, les mécanismes de formation supra et sous-gingivale de bioﬁlm, les besoins de développement et les multiples interactions inter-espèces qui se produisent dans les communautés polymicrobiennes, alors qu'elles s'efforcent d'optimiser leur adaptation aux contraintes environnementales. En outre, le rôle du biofilm dans les maladies parodontales et péri-implantaires est discuté avec diverses stratégies pour contrôler sa croissance afin de maintenir une meilleure santé parodontale.
