Description

While teaching plant taxonomy to undergraduate level, I experienced that the flowering stage of plant included in syllabus does not corresponds with the time of teaching period of a particular plant. We explain everything about the plant but we show the students only diagrammatic representation of plant. All the parts such as root, stem, leaf and flowers etc., are present in all the plants. Differences are there but it is little bit hard for students to remember. The actual difference is clearly understood only after observation of living fresh plant part of coloured photographic representation of plant. This is the only reason to create a book of photographic representation of flowering plant families which are included in the syllabus of undergraduate and post graduate students of plant science. The book entitled ‘Dissected flowers of Plant Families’ included description of 35 flowering plants and its coloured images. The book is very useful for teachers and students of Botany, Pharmaceutical Science, and Ayurvedic Science of all the colleges and Universities of the World.
