La femme est souvent considérée, dans beaucoup de sociétés traditionnelles, comme un être truffé de défauts, et de ce fait, elles ne lui reconnaissent presque aucun droit. Ainsi, dans l’Afrique des traditions, la situation de la femme n’était pas toujours des meilleures. Au Sénégal cependant, le statut de la femme a beaucoup évolué aujourd’hui. Grâce à l’émergence et à la consolidation de mouvements d’émancipation modernes, la femme y est traitée de plus en plus soit comme l’égale de l’homme ou en tout cas comme un être à part entière. Cet état des faits concernant la gente féminine explique que dans l’académisme d’aujourd’hui, plusieurs disciplines font de la femme un sujet central d’étude. La réalité est que cette profusion d’attention sur la femme donne naissance à une diversité de spéculations sur son rôle dans le social, le politique et l’économique. Certainement le champ littéraire, entre autres, pourvoie d’amples et pertinents exemples sur les rôles multiples assignés ou volontairement occupés par le sujet féminin. Mon propos, dans ce travail, cherche à explorer et discuter le combat sociopolitique et la représentation de la femme dans les romans sénégalais.
