Een eenvoudig inflatiemodel is gebouwd op de basis van het Vector Autoregressief kader om de reactie van de binnenlandse grondstoffenprijzen op de valutaprijzen, de wereldwijde prijsontwikkeling en een aantal macro-economische variabelen te analyseren. De studie trachtte te bepalen in welke mate de wisselkoerswaarden bijdragen tot de inflatie en, in het verlengde daarvan, de aanvaardbaarheid van het theoretische argument voor de volledige doorberekening van de wisselkoers te testen aan de hand van Nigeriaanse gegevens. De reeksen werden bevestigd om te worden geïntegreerd van orde één toen de Augmented Dickey Fuller test werd toegepast om de volgorde van de integratie te controleren. Met behulp van de coïntegratieprocedure van Johansen werd ook vastgesteld dat er een langdurige evenwichtsrelatie bestaat tussen de variabelen. De resultaten van het Vector Error Correction Model bevestigden de reactie van de inflatie op de wisselkoers in Nigeria. De inflatie bleek ook te reageren op de wereldwijde trend van de prijzen en op andere variabelen dan de openheid. Dit boek is vertaald met Kunstmatige Intelligentie.
