Rangeland Management

Rangeland management focuses on the practical management of the world's range resources for the development of grassland farming for animal production in the tropical regions, which acts as one of the major sources of livelihood for most of the pastoral communities. This book contains seven sections ,chapter 1deals with general concepts and definitions and concepts of measuring the nutritive values of rangelands. Chapter2 deals with range deterioration,improvement,ranching systems and feed conservation. Chapter 3 handles the ecological concepts in range improvement. While Chapter 4 and 5 highlights animal utilization of grassland and introduction to the vegetation of Sudan respectively, while chapter 6 focus on range improvement for livestock production. Finally Chapter 7 deals with management of tropical range and pasture legumes. It is intended for intermediate-level University students, teachers and students of animal production and other relevant specializations or fields such as Wildlife, Environmental and forestry students at University levels.
