Avec l’apparition d’Internet et la démocratisation de l’informatique, les problèmes de sécurité sont devenus un enjeu majeur. Le volume des atteintes est en constante augmentation depuis sa création ce qui constitue un danger sérieux au développement des États. Pour y faire face, les États se sont mobilisés en adoptant tant sur le plan interne qu’international, un ensemble de normes pénales. Seulement, cet arsenal juridique présente encore beaucoup de lacunes normatives et institutionnelles qui rendent la répression internationale du cybercrime quasi-inefficace. Au-delà de ce constat, nous avons essayé d’apporter quelques réponses en fournissant quelques propositions pour améliorer la répression de la cybercriminalité internationale. Il a été suggéré de renforcer les capacités des mécanismes traditionnels de répression ou l’adoption des législations spécifiques à tous les niveaux (national, régional et universel) qui définiraient clairement le champ infractionnel de la cybercriminalité et qui permettrait ainsi de traquer les cybercriminels partout dans le monde.
