La presente obra titulada La Investigación Acción. Desarrollo de competencias docentes en la asignatura Didáctica de las Ciencias Sociales, tiene como objetivo sistematizar y modelar el método de la investigación acción en el proceso de aprendizaje y nace como una propuesta del docente investigador de implementar (modelar) la investigación acción como una herramienta para desarrollar competencias psicopedagógicas en los docentes en formación en la carrera Ciencias Sociales, esto debido a que en los diferentes subsistemas educativos de nuestro país estamos atravesando procesos de transformación de modelos educativos, cambios vertiginosos en la sociedad actual, y los maestros muchas veces nos vemos en una encrucijada, debido a que los estudiantes demandan del profesorado renovar las metodologías didácticas de las asignaturas que impartimos, pero algunos maestros no fuimos formados con competencias innovadoras en los procesos de aprendizaje, es decir, ser capaces de cambiar de paradigmas que han estado anquilosados en las escuelas, para empalmar en los tiempos y en las necesidades de la sociedad en la que interactuamos y que estamos formando.
