Description
Un modèle cohérent de diffusion est développé en aide à la compréhension de la réponse radar de la végétation sahélienne. Cette végétation est principalement composée de ligneux et des herbacées annuelles. Le générateur de la végétation prend en compte la morphologie des ligneux et des herbacées. Le houppier des ligneux est représenté comme contenu dans un volume cylindrique ou ellipsoïdal dépendant de la forme du ligneux. Par ailleurs, le générateur représente les herbacées comme un ensemble de tiges cylindriques et de feuilles en forme de lames à section transversale en "V". La statistique du coefficient de rétrodiffusion est obtenue à partir d'une simulation Monte Carlo sur plusieurs réalisations. La précision des simulations est vérifiée en comparant avec des données satellite en bande C et polarisation HH. Les simulations sont proches aux mesures. C'est ainsi que le modèle a été introduit dans un algorithme d'inversion de paramètres végétaux. Les paramètres sensibles de cette végétation sont l'humidité du sol, la densité des herbacées et l'humidité des herbacées. L'estimation de ces trois paramètres montre un bon accord avec les données terrain.
