Depuis son invention à la fin du siècle XIX, le béton armé est devenu un matériau structurel incontournable dans la construction des ouvrages de génie civil. Sachant qu''il s''agit d''un composite des barres d''acier noyés dans une masse de béton, son efficacité structurel dépend directement de la liaison entre ces deux matériaux, laquelle gère le transfert des efforts entre eux. Cet ouvrage traite sur l''étude de la liaison acier-béton, en abordant autant la compréhension du phénomène que l''évaluation des plusieurs travaux expérimentaux et numériques réalisés pour sa caractérisation, et propose une formulation en éléments finis à deux échelles pour sa prise en compte dans l''analyse numérique des structures en "béton armé". Ainsi, on présente la formulation d''un modèle de comportement non linéaire thermodynamique de la liaison, écrit en termes de contrainte-déformation, supporté par un élément fini spécial d''interface d''épaisseur nulle. Ensuite, inspiré de la méthode XFEM, on a construit les bases d''un "Elément Fini Enrichi" englobant les trois composants: béton - liaison – acier, pour l''analyse des structures en béton armé à une échelle supérieure.
