En el presente catálogo se ubicaron diferentes especies botánicas, poniendo particular énfasis en los nombre científicos y comunes, familias a las que pertenecen, una breve descripción botánica, los hongos que controla y la ubicación geográfica de la especie vegetal dentro de la República Mexicana. En general, se encontraron 224 géneros diferentes de especies botánicas pertenecientes a 82 familias, distribuidas en todo el territorio nacional y con potencial antifúngico sobre aproximadamente 266 diferentes especies de hongos fitopatógenos. La idea de realizar este catálogo fue el de recopilar y concentrar información dispersa de artículos científicos, de difusión, capítulos de libros, tesis, resúmenes de congresos, etc. de plantas regionales e introducidas de otras áreas del planeta con actividad fungicida. Como primer intento, la información se concentró únicamente en mostrar aquellas especies botánicas cuya actividad biológica es a partir de la obtención de extractos. Es por esto que en conexión con lo anterior se tiene la inquietud de continuar con este trabajo, pero involucrando a los aceites esenciales provenientes de especies vegetales y sus propiedades fungicidas.
