That's what the magazine "Musica Sacra" wrote about the first volume of the Graduale Novum, which has become a widely used standard work since its appearance seven years ago. Volume II now contains the chants of the working days of Advent, the time after Christmas, Lent, the time after Easter and the time in the year circle, the communia and propria of the saints, the chants of the liturgy of the dead and the other chants provided in the Ordo Cantus Missae, which are not yet published in Volume I of the Graduale Novum. It serves today's liturgical practice as well as science. Again, the revisions are incorporated directly into the square notation. Above or below the staff the neumes in Metzer and St. Gallen notation are added. An indispensable edition that makes the current state of research accessible for chorale scholes and their conductors, for singers, for theologians, for teaching and research as well as for all those interested in Gregorian chorale and which meets the demands of the liturgy constitution of the II Vatican.
