Description

This book is the result of field trips undertaken to different locations in Tabuk region, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by Prof. Rajasab while working in the University of Tabuk (2009-2011). The book is divided into three sections: Section–I Species Description, Ethno-botanical and Medicinal uses; Section-II Plant Communities and Section–III Plant biodiversity of Tabuk region. In Section-I, photographs of 115 plant species along with the information on their traditional uses as medicine, food, fodder, agriculture and horticulture are discussed. Information regarding individual species is obtained through the interaction with the local people and available literature. In section-II, the information on the composition of plant communities in different areas of Tabuk region is provided along with the photographs of 109 species. Section-III outlines a list of 198 plant species belonging to 52 families from eight diverse areas of Tabuk region. This book aims to help students, teachers and researchers interested in the field of plant biodiversity, horticulture, desert, poisonous, medicinal and wild food plants.
