В данной книге впервые представлен анализ воздействия Ташкентской железной дороги (1906-1928гг)на экономическую и политическую жизнь территории, протяженностью около двух тысяч километров. Хронология исследования охватывает не только указанный период, но и строительство первой Оренбургской железной дороги (1877г), Закаспийской военной железной дороги (1880-1889гг), Самаро-Златоустовской магистрали. Благодаря ТЖД было сформировано единое экономическое пространство в границы которого сегодня вошли Оренбуржье, Казахстан и Узбекистан. Интенсификация транспортного сообщения позволила совершить значительный скачок в развитии сельского хозяйства, промышленного производства, торговых отношений, а также значительно облегчила выход из экономического и политического кризиса, вызванного Первой мировой и Гражданской войнами. В целом, книга предназначается всем тем, кому не безразлична собственная история.
