The Bible as an acoustic kaleidoscope The Bible is full of tales of wonders, heroes and contradictions that have always invited artistic endeavors. In this large-scale project of Hessian Radio, writers and artists tell the biblical stories from a present perspective. They burst a philologist congress with a Pentecost miracle, sending Abraham with his two wives Sarah and Hagar to the family therapist, creating a writing Paul who desperately seeks to maintain the unity of Christians. In 21 audio plays, the whole world holiness, prudence, tragedy and, yes, even comedy of the biblical stories, which still represent the foil of Western narratives. A 300-page companion book gives all Bible passages to the radio plays and includes 21 essays by well-known theologians and religious scholars, which are also included in the broadcast version as an mp3 CD.
